Winners Announcement Expected: November 2010
The 2010 FotoWeek DC International Awards Competition will recognize and honor extraordinary work in photography from all over the world.
Now in its third year, the FotoWeek DC International Awards Competition continues to innovate and find new ways to engage photographers around the world. Highlights for 2010 include a new Mobile Photo category, special price breaks for multiple submissions and a focus on Environmental Conservation, in celebration of the International Year of Biodiversity.
The winning images from each of the categories will be shown online and exhibited during FotoWeek.

Prizes
- Cash Totaling $23,450
- "Spirit of Washington" Winner: $5,000
- 12 Main Categories:
- 1st: $1,000
- 2nd: $500
- 3rd: $200
- Mobile Phone
- 1st: $500
- 2nd: $250
- 3rd: $100
- Student Awards: $100 in 6 selected categories including Photojournalism/Social Documentary, Commercial, Fine Art, Contemporary Life, Travel and Portrait.
- Work displayed at FotoWeek DC Festival November 6-13, 2010.
- Work eligible for optional revenue sharing consideration and sponsor gifts.
- Media and online exposure at fotoweekdc.org.
- People's Choice winner will receive a swag bag.
Rules
- Photographers worldwide may enter the FotoWeek DC International Awards Competition.
- All entrants must be 18 or older as of the final deadline of the competition.
- With the exception of the "Spirit of Washington" and the Mobile Phone Single Image categories (where all photographers enter together), photographers may enter in 2 classes (general and students).
- Students must be enrolled in a college or university, and finalists must be able to provide proof of student status upon notification.
- All works must have been created within the last five years.
How to enter?
Register to the competition on the official website and upload your photos.
Entry fee
- Single image
- $20 each ($80 for 4) (1-4 images)
- $15 each ($135 for 9) (5-9 images)
- $10 each ($100 for 10) (10 entries or more)
- Series (4-6 images) $75 per Series
- Multimedia Entry: $40 per Multimedia Entry
- Mobile Phone Image: $4.95 each
Entries submitted before July 31, 2010 will receive a 20% discount off of the above prices.
