Young pianists from around the world are invited to register for the 8th International Piano Competition "J. S. Bach" 2013. The competition is an opportunity to compete in playing selected works from Johann Sebastian Bach.

The Competition will conclude with the prize winner concert in March 2013. Four main cash prizes and two special prizes are available for the best young pianists.

This is a competition open to candidates born after 1st April 1976, i.e. who are no older than 36 at the time of the contest.

Promoting and Underlining the Importance of the «Bach-Image»

This contest offers young pianists of all nationalities the opportunity to compete together with a view to promoting and underlining the importance of the «Bach-Image» both in public concerts and in the field of teaching.

In the contest, candidates should not only demonstrate pianistic and artistic skills, but also a strongly developed awareness of style in their Bach interpretation. Scope is nevertheless given for individual interpretation within the framework of original texts.

This is a three stage competition which concludes with a concert. The prize winner concert will take place on 21st March 2013, 7.00 pm. in the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg -- Gebäude „Am Residenzplatz“, Hofstraße 13.

The following prizes will be awarded to the best pianists:

  • 1st Prize: €4000
  • 2nd Prize: €3000
  • 3rd Prize: €2000
  • 4th Prize: €1000
  • Special Prize "Walter Blankenheim": €500
  • Special Prize of the Jury: €500

The annual d3 Natural Systems competition for 2012 invites architects, designers, engineers, and students to collectively explore the potential of analyzing, documenting, and deploying nature-based influences in architecture, interiors, and designed objects.

All architects, landscape architects, interior designers, engineers, and students are invited to participate. Cash prizes will be awarded to three best proposals.

Innovative Proposals Advancing Sustainable Thought + Performance Wanted!

The competition calls for innovative proposals that advance sustainable thought and performance through the study of intrinsic environmental geometries, behaviors, and flows. By identifying, examining, and applying their structural order on form and function- -bottom-up, performance-based solutions for limitless building typologies, functional programs, and material conditions may be realized.

An architecture of emergence suggests that design expression requires purpose beyond formal assumption and aesthetic experimentation itself. Concurrent with sustainable thought, the d3 Natural Systems competition assumes that architecture does not simply form, but rather perform various functions beyond those conventionally associated with buildings. Design submissions must be environmentally responsible while advancing inventive conceptual solutions. Although proposals should be technologically feasible, they may suggest fantastical architectural visions of a sustainable global future.

The d3 Natural Systems competition allows designers freedom to approach their creative process in a scale-appropriate manner -- from large-scale master planning endeavors, to individual building concepts, to notions of interior detail. Accordingly, there are no restrictions on site, scale, program, or building typology, proposals should carefully address their selected context.

Astra Film Festival (AFF) is a major event in the European film community. The Festival is located in Sibiu – Romania, and it is unique in this part of Europe. Astra Film Festival 2012 is Calling for Documentaries

The 12th Astra Film Festival Sibiu accepts documentary films without restriction to theme and length. Films must have cinematographic qualities, artistic commitment and a strong presence of the filmmaker's point of view both in form and content. Creative documentaries and auteur films are specially welcomed.

The Festival consists of:

Anima Mundi, the international animation festival of Brazil, is calling for entries for its 2012 edition. This is a festival that aims to inform, train, educate and entertain by using the infinite possibilities of the language of animation.

In 2012, Anima Mundi will have seven competitive and five non-competitive categories and will award lots of big prizes to the best animations. Plus, selected films and videos will become part of "Anima Mundi on the Road", a special program that will tour in several Brazilian cities for 11 months after the festival.

The 2012 International Animation Festival of Brazil is Open for Entries

This year's Anima Mundi will feature the following competitive categories:

The recipient of the "Best Film Award" in the short films category may be eligible to enter the Animated Short Film competition for the concurrent Oscar® season, provided that the films meets all the requirements set forth by the Academy’s official rules for that season.

Each year the Revelation Perth International Film Festival, or simply, Revelation, receives around 500 short, feature, animated, experimental and documentary films from around the globe through its call for entries. The Festival seeks to showcase unique, individual and signature driven works from the international film community across all genres, formats and durations.

Silpakorn University is honored to annually precede Prince Naris Day in honor of H.R.H. Prince Narisaranuvativongse, a master artist and craftsmen, in order to promote creativity and innovation in the photographic arts which has experienced tremendous growth in recent years by technological development.

The best entries will be awarded with big prizes, certificates and medals.

Commemorating Prince Naris Day 2012 with a Contest on the Theme: Water

This year, the university will arrange the 8th International Photographic Contest on the theme “WATER” to pay tribute to the artistic achievements of H.R.H. Prince Naris, to promote the artistic and cultural knowledges to the interested public, to develop the photographic art circle in Thailand to reach a global standard as well as to enhance the sharing experiences, ideas and various perspectives in art and culture of the photographers around the world.

Entries are not restricted to any particular photographic or artistic techniques. Photographic entries may be in color or in black-and-white and may be taken with a standard film camera or a digital camera. The size of photographs should be 16 inches x 20 inches or 16 inches x 24 inches.

Each photographic entry must have been newly taken and must never have been exhibited in public and awarded in any contests.

Silpakorn University will award the following prizes:

  • 1 Grand Prize - The winner will receive 80,000 baht in cash with the certificate and the H.R.H. Prince Narisaranuvattivongse medal of distinction;
