2010 TCA International Student Design Contest

Sponsored by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association and the Tennessee Concrete Association, this years student design contest focuses on “The Concrete Classroom.”

Students in the field of architecture, currently in a undergraduate program are graduate or invited to present conceptual designs for a new education and training facility for a state concrete association, specifically designed with emphasis on practical sustainability using site-cast concrete panels and components known as “Tilt- Up” concrete.

The Concrete Classroom 2010 is an international, open, single-stage ideas competition.

SCHLINGEL – 15th International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience

SCHLINGEL – the International Film Festival for Children and Young Audience gives an overview of current international productions and aims at motivating distributors and TV stations in Germany to integrate these films into their programmes.

SCHLINGEL is an independent film festival with international competitions and various additional events. It takes place annually.

Only children and youth films completed after the 01 January 2009 can apply for the competitions.

Sumu Residency Programme 2010 – 2011 – Artists’ Association Arte

The Sumu Residency Programme is open for new media artists, working in the intersection of new technologies and contemporary art. This includes performance art and all types of new media: sound art, video art, installations, etc. Artists can apply to the residence once a year with an individual submission, which should include CV, samples of recent work and a project plan.

The proposal can include an exhibition, which takes place in the end of the residency, either in the studio space or on Artists’ Association Arte website.

Sumu Programme started in 2006 and it is the first residency programme specializing in new media art in all of Finland.

Clements International’s “Life in a Flying House” 2010 Expat Youth Scholarship

Clements International’s “Life in a Flying House” 2010 Expat Youth Scholarship will award $10,000 to students ages 12-18 of any nationality who have resided in a foreign country for at least two consecutive years. This year’s theme asks, “Where would you go in your flying house?” The “flying house” is inspired by the idea that students who spend their childhoods moving between different countries and cultures acquire unique life experiences.

The scholarship contest offers expat students a chance to use their experiences living in a foreign country to imagine where their journey might take them next.

Entries consist of an essay (500 – 750 words) and creative image or photograph that incorporates their own personalized flying house.

Artists in Residence 2010 – 2011 – Triangle France

Triangle France organizes an artists in residence programme from early September to late December 2010 and from early January to late April 2011.

Triangle France is a non profit structure based in the Friche Belle de Mai, a former tobacco factory in the center of Marseilles. It has for aim to promote contemporary art through its residency program and shows and events taking place in the Friche but also in some partners places, in France or abroad.

You are invited to send your application before 15 May 2010.
