Student filmmakers, colleges and universities, prepare yourselves for the 2011 Kodak Scholarship Program.

These highly competitive awards are given to students demonstrating superior professional filmmaking production skills and creativity along with academic success. Participating worldwide colleges and universities that offer a degree or diploma program in film, film production, or cinematography may nominate up to two students each year for consideration.

Colleges and universities in the U.S., Canada, Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin America are eligible to submit nominations.

The London International Documentary Festival 2011

The London International Documentary Festival is calling for entries for the 2011 Festival. Documentary films produced after 1 January 2009 are eligible to enter.

Selected films will have a public presentation at the London International Documentary Festival (LIDF) – and will also be eligible for subsequent or additional screenings carried out by the London International Documentary Festival outside of the festival itself.

London International Documentary Festival 2011 will take place over 10 days from 5 - 15 May 2011 at venues across London.

Michelin Challenge Design 2012

Utilizing their position as a leading member of the automotive industry and their unique position as a non-OEM exhibitor at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), Michelin offers a challenge to designers around the world, individuals and small and large companies, to enthusiastically create, bring forward and display, significant design work that would normally not have an opportunity to be shown at a major auto show.

For the Michelin Challenge Design 2012, participants are challenged to design a personal, ground-based vehicle that can transport between 2 and 10 people at a time. Designers will choose Cairo, Los Angeles, Mumbai, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, or Shanghai and design a vehicle to meet anticipated needs for that city in 2046.

The 2011 Bucharest International Jazz Competition

Bucharest International Jazz Competition is a singular event on the professional Romanian jazz scene, but also in the entire South Eastern Europe. It is addressed to bands and vocalists aged up to 35 years, and its mission is to contribute to the acknowledgement of the Romanian and international jazz values.

An entire week dedicated exclusively to jazz. Between 8 and 13 May, Bucharest’s music lovers are invited to discover and to encourage the best musicians of the moment, “crème de la crème” or just reaching the peaks of success, from all around Europe and other continents.

The contest is followed by jam sessions and workshops, where international specialists share their knowledge and skills in jazz with the participants.

NASA Art Contest 2011 – Future of Flight

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) invites high school and college students from all areas of study to enter, including the arts, industrial design, architecture, computer design, and the fine arts. Students are asked to submit their work on the theme: Future of Flight. Artists are encouraged to collaborate with science and engineering students.

Any full time student can enter, regardless of major or area of study. Prizes include awards and exhibit opportunities.

It is NASA's intention to provoke non-science and engineering students to think about the science and engineering required to achieve the future of flight both in space and on Earth.
