Carl Zeiss Photo Contest 2010

Optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss launched its 2010 annual global photography competition. This year’s theme is “Light is my language”.

Photographers and photo enthusiasts are invited to illustrate and capture the theme from their own perspective.

Anyone can participate, provided the images are shot with Zeiss lenses. It doesn’t matter if the picture was taken with an SLR camera or a camera phone.

The best entry on the Carl Zeiss Photo Contest 2010 wins a Zeiss SLR lens.

Gioiello Campano – International Design Competition 2010

The Italian Jewellery Awards and the consortia of Polo Orafo Campano, under the scientific consultancy of the POLI.DESIGN - Consortium of the Milan Politecnico - is holding an international design competition for designers under 35 years of age.

The competition seeks to inspire new ideas regarding innovative use of techniques and materials linked to traditional Campania goldsmithing and jewellery making, aiming to capture a contemporary style or forms/styles of Campania arts or which takes traditional materials and techniques of Campania jewellery to different areas of merchandise.

Prize Women & Art 2009 – 2010

To promote women's contribution to art, Le Consortium together with Evelyne Encelot association organizes the Prize Women & Art 2009 - 2010.

This art prize will be cooperated by 5 specific regions, including Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany), Central Bohemia (Czech Republic), Opole (Poland), province of Pécs (Hungary) and Burgandy (France). Arts organizations in each country that are dedicated to contemporary art are invited to propose past or upcoming exhibitions of the female artists they support.

The laureate, awarded by a jury of professionals recognized in the culture field, will receive the amount of €10000 and offered a solo show in one or several participating countries.

Uppsala International Short Film Festival 2010

The 29th Uppsala International Short Film Festival takes place 25-31 October 2010.

This festival is Sweden's premier festival for short films, having both the national recognition of the Swedish Film Institute and international renown.

More than 300 films are screened each year in the different sections of the festival, which includes International Competition, National Competition, Children´s Film Competition, special programmes and retrospectives.

Bitfilm Festival 2010

In 2010, the Bitfilm Festival will reinvent itself. It will change from an online festival for digital film into a worldwide experiment in crowd production. Many submissions on a given subject will form a full-length feature film which will be more than the sum of its parts.

The audience will select the short films via an online vote. All selected films will receive a payment.

Every filmmaker or animator, whether professional, student or amateur is eligible to enter.

The cultural organization Mikser is pleased to announce that in 2011, the Ghost Project initiative is expanding beyond the Balkans and is calling young industrial designers and architects from all over the world to take part in the competition.

The winning projects will be part of the core Talent exhibition at the Mikser Festival, Southeast Europe's largest regional festival of creativity and innovation.
