Videonale 13 – Festival for Contemporary Video Art

"A place for discoveries" - that's what art wrote about Videonale, the German festival for contemporary video art. The 13th edition of Videonale will take place from 14 April to 29 May 2011 at Kunstmuseum Bonn/Germany. All artists are invited to apply for Videonale 13 with a video work created in the past two years. For the first time Videonale will also accept multi-channel works to the contest.

Founded in 1984 the biannually initiated Videonale is counted amongst the oldest festivals for video art in Germany and Europe. Besides its high standard of presented works Videonale reached a widely accepted reputation in its attempt to develop new forms of presentation for video art.

Mikser Young Balkan Designers Competition

Mikser is calling young industrial designers to take part in the Young Balkan Designers competition. The competition is open to all persons 35 years of age and younger.

Furniture, lighting and home accessories that represent original solutions to everyday problems will be evaluated.

Mikser will promote the award winner(s) for one year with intense promotional activities and an international exhibition tour.

Funware Shared Artist in Residence – BALTAN, NIMk and Piksel

BALTAN, NIMk and Piksel have launched an open call for proposals as part of the exhibition project Funware. They are looking for interesting new software art projects that can be developed in the period of June – November 2010 through a shared residency. The new work developed during the residency will be presented in the Funware exhibition at MU in Eindhoven, at HMKV in Dortmund and as part of the Piksel festival 2010.

This residency is a collaboration between three labs, based on a desire to investigate the ways and potential of working within a network of labs that support the exchange and sharing of resources and knowledge.
