The 2011 Freedom To Create Youth Art Prize

Launched in 2007, the Freedom to Create Prize is a celebration of the courage and creativity of artists, and the positive influence of their work to promote social justice and inspire the human spirit. The Prize is open to all forms of art, in any creative field and any individual or group of any gender, religion or nationality.

In 2010, nearly 2,000 artists entered from more than 100 countries.

In 2011, a total prize fund of US $100,000 will be awarded to the winning artists and their nominated advocacy organisations to further the cause their artwork has highlighted.

Realtime Technology (RTT) Emerging Technology Contest 2011 is open for video presentations of your imagination for the life in future.

In 10 years, how will we interact with environments and institutions? Take a sample from any urban space – office buildings, shopping malls, concert venues, hospitals, parks, night clubs – all the people places. Show how you imagine the way we work and live to change in the future – through robotics, input devices or other interaction techniques.

Two winning teams will be invited to join RTT Excite 2011 in Munich l Germany on 19-20 May 2011 to present their projects to an international expert audience.

Every two years, Ilustrarte is an opportunity to see the world’s best illustration and to bring together in Lisbon illustrators, writers and readers of all ages. Ilustrarte 2012 is already the 5th edition.

Illustrators from all over the world are invited to take part on the competition sending 3 original illustrations, unpublished or published after January 2009.

The Ilustrarte exhibition takes place at the Museum of Electricity in Lisbon - Portugal. Located by the river Tagus in a superb old power station, the Museum of Electricity is an industrial archaeological museum, a science museum and a venue for fine arts exhibitions.

The 2011 YAF/COD Ideas Competition

The AIA Young Architects Forum (YAF) and the AIA Committee on Design (COD) invites architects, students, and allied design professionals to submit sketches to the international 2011 YAF/COD Ideas Competition.

In this unique sketch competition, submitters are asked to explore the principles of Universal Design as well as their overlap with values of social and environmental sustainability.

Winners will be announced and will have their work exhibited at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) 2011 National Convention and Design Exposition in New Orleans, Louisiana, 12-14 May 2011. Selected entries will be displayed on the AIA website.
