2010 Images of Research Competition

After the success of the first five years photo contest "Images of Research", one of the largest competitions for science photography will be held again in 2010. Once again in 2010, the news magazine FOCUS and vfa, Association of Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies, are looking for professional and amateur photographers, whose photographs show the fascination of research and science by making it a visual experience.

At the same time, the images should also present people whose day-to-day research generates innovations that will improve the quality of life. With round about 2.000 pictures submitted since 2005,"Images of Research" is one of the biggest German competitions for science photography.

Schools of Tomorrow – Student Design Competition

Sponsored by Kawneer and administered by the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), the program challenges students to learn about building materials, specifically architectural aluminum building products and systems in the design of a modern and creative school for students ranging from kindergarten to sixth grade.

While open to any student, the competition is designed for advanced students.

Total prize money is $7,225, including $2,500 for the first place winning design.

Paducah Photo 2011 – 36th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition

Originating in 1975, The Paducah Photo Juried Photography Exhibition has grown from a fledgling contest to the region's most prestigious annual photographic event. It is open to all without restrictions on size or content. It provides photographers with an outlet for their art, encouragement for growth in their vision and presentation and cash rewards for works of exceptional merit.

Each year from the hundreds of works submitted, 60 to 80 images are selected for exhibition by a highly qualified juror, with 8 to 10 of them receiving cash awards.
