Open Call for New Life Residency

New Life Residency is the world's first non-visual residency program for artists. The residency is organized as part of Manifesta 8, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, and will take place this fall in the Region of Murcia, Spain.

For one week each, five artists will be selected to live and work in a dark, visually distorted exhibition space.

To support them in their life and work for the week, the artist will collaborate with a local Murcian assistant who is blind.

Künstlerhaus Schloß Balmoral Scholarship 2011

Künstlerhaus Schloß Balmoral supports visual artists from the disciplines of painting, sculpture, installation, drawing, graphic arts, design, photography, video as well as from new media and landscape art from all over the world by awarding artists-in-residence scholarships.

Eligible to apply for a Balmoral scholarship are international visual artists of any age.

Balmoral Scholarships are awarded for the period of six months.

Akademie Schloss Solitude Residency 2011 – 2013

For the thirteenth time in 20 years the international residency program Akademie Schloss Solitude – located in Stuttgart, Germany – is granting approx. 60 residency fellowships of six to twelve months in duration.

Persons up to 35 or if older than 35 who have completed a university or college degree within the past five years are welcome to apply. Some few fellowships are awarded regardless to the age of the applicant.

International artists are invited to apply.

Creative Stay For Young Photographers – Pour l’Instant

Pour l'Instant is looking for eight residents for their annual call - Creative Stay For Young Photographers.

A technical centre, fully equipped to professional standards, including a black and white darkroom and a digital workshop is reserved for their exclusive use. In this context, the young artists are invited to create and experiment. They have total carte blanche to work as they wish, stimulated by their encounters, exchanges and the diverse approaches of other participants.

This amounts to a truly unique artistic experience.

Then sign up for Time to design – new talent award 2010. The award is aimed at young designers in the beginning of their career, who have already shown potential and talent. A highly qualified jury will select the best design proposal.

The award includes three months residency at The Danish Art Workshops with own mini studio as well as access to workshops and guidance. If accommodation is needed an apartment is available as well.

NKD Artists in Residence Program for 2011

Nordic Artists' Centre Dalsåsen is a contemporary art institution that runs an artist-in-residence program and related activities. The program aims to encourage international contacts for artists and focuses on visual culture including design and architecture, locally rooted practice and Nordic as well as international processes.

The centre is located on the norwegian west coast, north from Bergen. The nkd receives funding from the Norwegian Ministry of Culture.
