There is still time to enter YMFE-Scholarship Competition and compete for a full scholarship from the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe. The deadline is short, so act quickly!

This is a fantastic opportunity for music students! A total of 43 scholarships in 29 countries will be awarded to full-time students in 2011/2012.

The Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe (YMFE) is a European non-profit making charity that - above all - is dedicated to supporting talented music students in Europe. Since 1990, the Foundation has awarded scholarships worth more than 1 Million Euro in total to over 850 outstanding young musicians all over Europe.

Show Your Musical Talent Playing Brass & Woodwind Instruments

The YMFE-Scholarship Competition is open to full-time music students of any nationality not older than 25 years at the time of the application.

The rewarded discipline changes every year and is country specific. In 2011/2012, the scholarships’ discipline is Brass & Woodwind. Regulations may vary depending on your country.

Applicants will be selected according to their current musical ability and their demonstrated future potential. The basis for this evaluation is an initial screening from a recorded performance, followed by a live performance at the final selection. Selection Committees comprising senior figures from the world of music will select the most suitable applicants.

Win A Full Scholarship from the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe!

Each scholarship has a value of €1000 to €2000, depending on the country where the applicant is studying. The Scholarship covers one year and the money may be used for any purpose related to the advancement of studies.

Submit A Recording of Two Titles to Compete

You should complete an application form and send it to the appropriate contact address (for your country) together with a recording of two titles.

Please make sure to send a CD or DVD with your recordings together with the application form.

The format of the recording should be .WAV or MP3.

The quality of the sound does not have an effect on the later selection process.

The length of both pieces should not exceed more than 20 minutes.

Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) is pleased to announce that there are 38 scholarships for international students! You're invited to participate by developing a project.

This is your chance to win one of the 38 international master scholarships for the 2011-2012 school year for studies in Milan, Rome, Turin, Cagliari, Venice, Florence, Madrid and Barcelona.

This competition is open to young international students. IED rewards to the creative talents of young people aged between 20 and 45 years with an undergraduate course in its schools of Design, Fashion, Visual Communication and Management.

Objective

Develop a project on the theme: Your Reused Design.

"Reuse" means using an item more than once, for the same function, or for a second life, when it is used for a different purpose. By reusing, we can create new shapes from old materials. Reuse helps save time, money, energy, and resources, it can offer quality products to people and organizations with limited means, it can generate jobs and business activity that contribute to the economy. Reuse is a very important part of a sustainable behavior. Reusing is different from recycling, which consists in processing used materials for the production of new objects.

Reuse can consist of different actions: remanufacturing (reconstruct the object), regiving/regifting (taking a gift and giving it to someone else), repurposing (changing the function of an object), and nearly everything we buy and consume can be reused: old metal cans, clothes, textiles, plastic bags, bicycle tires, packaging tools are just a few examples of objects that can generate creative reuse.
