FILE – Electronic Language International Festival 2012

FILE - Electronic Language International Festival is open for new entries, by the end of February, to be exhibited in FILE 2012 exhibition. The 13a- edition of FILE in São Paulo will happen between July and August, 2012, in the Art Gallery of SESI-SP at FIESP Ruth Cardoso Cultural Center.

The Festival accepts lots of different types of artworks in 3 main groups: sound and music artworks, interactive artworks and digital artworks.

Besides exhibition entrance, FILE will receive proposals for lectures and workshops to participate at FILE Symposium and Workshop 2012. Both events will happen simultaneously during the first week of FILE 2012 exhibition, in São Paulo.

The 19th Jeunesses International Violin Competition

The most prestigious international competition for classical music, organized in Romania, Jeunesses competition, gets ready for its 19th edition.

Between 12 - 19 May 2012, violin musicians from over 40 countries are invited in Bucharest, to compete for €10.000 prizes.

The Jeunesses competition has been organized each year, since 1993, for several alternative disciplines – piano, violin, clarinet, flute, composition and canto. Its main goal is to discover, reward and promote the values of the new classical music generation, in order to support young musicians in building a successful career.

UdK Award for Interdisciplinary Art and Science 2012

The Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), one of the biggest, most traditional institutions of advanced artistic education in the world, is announcing the 2012 UdK Award for Interdisciplinary Art and Science!

This competition aims to give artists (fine art, media, architecture, design, music, theatre, visual communication etc.) and/or scientists the impetus and opportunity to work on content in the field of tension between the arts or between the arts and sciences.

The UdK Award for Interdisciplinary Art and Science is given on a biennial basis and is endowed with €7,500!

The 2012 John Lennon Scholarship Competition

Established in 1997 by Yoko Ono, this scholarship program honors the memory of one of the preeminent songwriters of the 20th century, John Lennon. Lennon’s enormous creative legacy includes such songs as, “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” “Strawberry Fields,” “Imagine,” “I Am the Walrus,” “All You Need Is Love,” and “Come Together” and continues to inspire and uplift new generations of music lovers around the world. More than $300,000 in scholarships have been awarded over the past thirteen years.

The 2012 John Lennon Scholarship competition is open only to U.S. college students between the ages of 17 and 24. Three scholarships with prizes totaling $20,000 will be awarded to the best original songs submitted to the competition.

Luxembourg Sinfonietta International Composition Prize 2013

The Luxembourg Society for Contemporary Music announces its 10th International Composition Prize for 2013 in cooperation with the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra.

Composers from all over the world are invited to present new works for an orchestra consisting of seven traditional Chinese instruments and seven classical western instruments.

Four monetary prizes will be awarded and the prize-winning works will be issued on CD.

International Piano Competition “J. S. Bach” 2013

Young pianists from around the world are invited to register for the 8th International Piano Competition "J. S. Bach" 2013. The competition is an opportunity to compete in playing selected works from Johann Sebastian Bach.

The Competition will conclude with the prize winner concert in March 2013. Four main cash prizes and two special prizes are available for the best young pianists.

This is a competition open to candidates born after 1st April 1976, i.e. who are no older than 36 at the time of the contest.
