THE MEME Embedded Camera Support Design Contest

THE MEME and Samsung Electronics invite designers and engineers to contribute feasible ideas for embedded support systems for digital cameras. The embedded support system should be integral to the camera (not detachable), hidden (or aesthetically integrated), easy to expand and retract, and usable in as many physical conditions as possible.

The challenge in this competition is to design embedded support systems that come as a replacement to tripods. What if a light, compact support system could be attached to the camera body, expanding only when necessary?

The 8th International Photographic Contest – Water

IIDA Interior Design Competition (IDC) 2012

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is inviting all interior design professionals worldwide to submit projects to the 39th Annual Interior Design Competition! Submitted design projects must have been completed after 1 January 2010.

IIDA hosts the Interior Design Competition to reward outstanding Interior Design and encourage new ideas and techniques in the design and furnishings of interior space.

Projects are accepted in seven different categories and judged for suitability, originality and successful integration of interior finishes and furnishings.

Call for Entries: BP Portrait Award 2012

The Portrait Award, now in its thirty-third year at the National Portrait Gallery, is an annual competition aimed at encouraging artists to focus upon and develop portraiture in their work.

The competition is open to everyone aged 18 and over in recognition of the outstanding and innovative work currently being produced by artists of all ages working in portraiture.

Last year 2,372 artists submitted their work and the exhibition, which featured fifty-five paintings, was seen by over 341,000 people at the National Portrait Gallery.

The BP Portrait Award 2012 exhibition will run at the National Portrait Gallery, London, from 21 June to 23 September 2012.

The 2012 SEGD Global Design Awards Program

The 2012 SEGD Global Design Awards are now open for entries from environmental designers, architects, students and clients. Exceptional environmental graphic design is recognized in the annual SEGD Global Design Awards Program, illustrating the pandisciplinary nature of visual communications in the built environment.

Winning projects have included complex wayfinding systems, branding and identity work, retail and interior projects, exhibition design, and public art installations.

Winners will be announced at the 2012 SEGD Conference, 8-9 June 2012 in Manhattan and Brooklyn and winning projects will be featured in the award-winning segdDESIGN magazine!

2nd International DonkeyArtPrize – Contemporary Art Competition

Blindonkey Cultural Association announces the opening of the second edition of the DonkeyArtPrize; a competition aimed at promoting modern and contemporary Art, developing an international community of artistic talent and discovering brand new artists.

Each artist will be given the chance to expose their work in the DonkeyArtPrize circuit of events, and the winners will receive a cashprize award.

The prize has an extremely free theme and subject. It is divided into three sections: Painting, Digital Art and Video.
