The Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), one of the biggest, most traditional institutions of advanced artistic education in the world, is announcing the 2012 UdK Award for Interdisciplinary Art and Science!

This competition aims to give artists (fine art, media, architecture, design, music, theatre, visual communication etc.) and/or scientists the impetus and opportunity to work on content in the field of tension between the arts or between the arts and sciences.

The UdK Award for Interdisciplinary Art and Science is given on a biennial basis and is endowed with €7,500!

Call for Entries: Poladarium Calendar 2013

MAGMA Brand Design is calling all photographers to get involved in an interesting calendar project called Poladarium. Any interested photographer can submit entries for Poladarium 2013, a tear-off calendar, just like the one our grandma used to hang in the kitchen. The twists is that this calendar unveils a new image/polaroid photography and its story every day.

Through this call, MAGMA is planning to collect 365 instant pictures and make them a part of the next edition of Polaroid calendar - Polaroid 2013.

The main requirement is to use a Polaroid SX-70 or 600 camera for the submitted photos.

Young Package 2012: International Competition for Packaging Design

The 17th year of the "Young Package" international competition aimed at young designers from all around the world has just been announced! Entries are now being accepted for Young Package 2012!

Young Package 2012 brings only one theme this year – the tea. The task of all participants is to pack an object related to tea drinking. It does not have to be tea leaves or tea bags. Into the competition all packages for objects inspired by tea culture, tea rooms or tea ceremonies are accepted. The packages should represent traditional drink in today´s style.

The competition is aimed at young designers up to 30 years of age. This year the special prize of Slovak Design Centre will be awarded too.

Call for Entries: The 155th International Print Exhibition 2012

The world’s oldest photographic competition, organized by The Royal Photographic Society, has put out a call for entries for 2012.

The 155th International Print competition is open to entrants until 21 March 2012 and has £6500 (approx $10,000) in cash prizes, Olympus Pen equipment and it will award medals to the winners.

First held in 1854 the Royal Photographic Society’s International Print competition and exhibition is the world’s most prestigious. Submissions reflect all aspects of photography from documentary and contemporary work through to natural history, landscape and portraiture.
