Winners Announcement Expected: November 2010

Pickled ink has teamed up with Jenny McDade, the creator/writer of the Cult Emmy-Award TV series Super Gran, and comic book author/editor Pat Mills (perhaps better known as ‘The Godfather of British Comics’).

Together, they are in search of an outstanding character-led artist to illustrate Jenny’s first graphic novel script, Party Girls.

The winner gets £1000 and a contract of representation at Pickled ink.

Objective

Pickled ink is asking for:

  • Character design of two lead characters
  • A 20 frame sample sequence
  • A front cover design

Prizes

Pickled ink is offering:

  • £1000
  • A contract of representation at Pickled ink

Rules

  • The award is eligible to illustration students in their final year of university, or within 12 months of graduation only. Please do not send anything if you do not fall into either of these categories because unfortunately it cannot be considered – proof of status will be required.

How to enter?

Please submit low-res artwork (saved for web) in no more than 8 low-res PDFs and either a letter from your university confirming you are a current student, or a copy of your graduation certificate to submissions [at] pickledink.com (please replace [at] with @), marking them for the attention of ‘The Pickled Award’.
