TOSMI – Training in Open Source Multimedia Instruments announces this years’ general and advanced courses for Blender – the free open source 3D content creation suite.
TOSMI is a part of MEDIA, the European Union’s support program for the European audiovisual industry and is designed to introduce media professionals to the benefits and possibilities of an open source pipeline in audio-video production.
In 2010, there are two separate 6 day long courses. Both of them will focus on Blender, the first serving as a general introduction to Blender and the second with an emphasis on advanced Blender techniques.
Objective
Apply to one of these Blender courses:
- General Blender Techniques: Tips and Tricks (16 - 21 August 2010)
- Advanced Blender: Character Setup, Rigging and Advanced Character Animation (23 - 28 August 2010)
Prizes
You get a scholarship that covers your expenses during the courses. Every course is 6 days, 8 hours mixed theory and practice. The experience is more than just studying some programs – there is also team work involved in the practical experience of creating a production.
The scholarship includes the accommodation, a meal once a day (lunch), and coffee-breaks.
Participants are responsible for arranging and covering the cost of travel.
Rules
- People from the European Union and Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Croatia and Lichtenstein are eligible to participate.
- Admission is limited to 14 participants per each session.
- Selection is made especially on the strength of the personal motivation, integration with previous achievements and future working plans.
- Please note that the application form must be submitted in English.
- The organisers do not provide reasons for non-admission to the program.

Entry fee
If you don’t get a scholarship you may still take part in these courses for the prize of €1000 per course.
