The 2011 World Press Photo Contest is now open for entries. World Press Photo invites all press photographers and photojournalists around the world to participate in the 2011 World Press Photo Contest. The annual competition is the largest press photography contest in the world. In the 2010 contest, 5,847 photographers from 128 countries participated submitting a total of 101,960 photographs. First prize winners in each category will receive a cash prize of €1,500. The premier award, the World Press Photo of the Year, carries a cash prize of €10,000.
