Camera Obscura Journal is accepting entries for the 2011 Summer Photography Competition. This is not a free competition, but the entry fees are quite affordable. Entries are accepted from both professional and amateur photographers. The Camera Obscura 2011 Summer Photography Competition is open for photographic-based artworks that don’t have to consist exclusively of photography. Photography-based mixed media artworks are encouraged for submission. Winners will be chosen in two categories: professional and non-professional and cash prizes will be awarded.

Now in its third year, the Tx:style design competition invites designers to imagine, create and upload design concepts for new Mannington Commercial flooring products – carpets. Practicing designers or architects with less or more than seven years of professional experience are eligible to enter. Six finalists will be chosen by a panel of judges on the basis of public comments, votes, aesthetics, creativity and manufacturability. Each finalist wins $3,000, promotion in a national advertising campaign and a trip to NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in Chicago. The Grand Prize winners will win even more prizes!
