The 2013 Guam International Film Festival (GIFF) is looking for exciting new films to present in their third Festival year which will commence 26-29 September, 2013. The organizers are especially interested in feature films, documentaries, short films, Pacific Asia themed films, family-themed films, animation and student films. All filmmakers – student, amateur and professionals – are encouraged to submit to GIFF. The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design is now accepting applications for the 2013 Good Design International Industrial and Graphic Design Awards Program. Now in its 62nd year, Good Design is the oldest and the most prestigious Awards Program organized worldwide. Entries for design and innovation, sustainability, creativity, branding, ecologically responsible design, human factors, materials, technology, graphic arts, packaging, and universal design are submitted to this program annually by various industrial design and graphic design firms working for the Fortune 500 companies.The emphasis of the Good Design program is on quality design of the highest form, function, and aesthetic—a standard beyond ordinary consumer products and graphics. The Awarded products and graphics are accessioned into the Museum’s Permanent Design Collection. Selected designers and manufacturers are allowed use of the Museum’s Good Design logo in publications, promotions, and marketing.
