MiRA Festival is pleased to announce the 2013 edition of Open Call, aimed at visual creation and designed for individual artists and groups who want to exhibit their work in the Festival in November, 2013. MiRA is an independent music and visual arts festival held in the Fabra i Coats factory in Barcelona. The festival promotes artistic meetings; exchange and creative dialogue between the emerging disciplines of visual creation and music, and offers an exhibitive platform to artists.

The LET’S CEE Short Film Competition will give young filmmakers from Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Austrian ones, the opportunity to present their films at the LET’S CEE Film Festival in Vienna. The underlying theme this year is Civil Society. The competition expires really soon, so you better act quickly! Once a year in Vienna the Festival presents high-quality productions from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), including the Caucasus region and Turkey.

Inside 2013 invites students and young professionals to submit a collection of their “inside” work comprised of up to three digital images. The Competition is open to all design disciplines including architects, interior designers, furniture designers, digital fabricators, graphic designers, lighting designers, product designers or any other creative field that creates for the inside. Inside 2013 poses the following questions: What are the aspirations by which we evaluate design today?In an increasingly networked culture, what makes a project capable of cutting through the virtual noise, and starting a new conversation?How do evolving forms of media affect the way in which your message reaches its destination? What is your message?The competition challenges you to confront the world with your work. By sending it out into the field you will test yourself and your projects. You are the designer, the curator and the critic.
