The Society for Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD) has opened the competition for its 2014 Global Design Awards – the only international design awards focused on visual communications in the built environment, highlighting the importance of Environmental Graphic Design (EGD) in connecting people to place. Wayfinding, Placemaking and Identity, Exhibition, Strategy/Research/Planning, and Public Installation projects can be submitted in several sub-categories. SEGD is expecting entries from: Environmental graphic designers, Graphic artists, Architects, Exhibit designers, Media developers, Landscape architects, Industrial designers, Interior designers, Fabricators, Clients and Students.

Animafest Zagreb 2014 — 24th World Festival of Animated Film has started accepting submissions for its Short film festival Edition. If you have a short (up to 30 min) animated film produced after 1 January 2012 you’re invited to submit it and enter the Animafest 2014 competitions. In 2014, the Festival will award four cash awards, from which the Grand Prix award includes 2,500 Euro and the “Dušan Vukotic” Prize — for the best student film — 1,000 Euro.
