Now in its 19th year the Young Package packaging design competition has opened the registration for 2014. Held annually, the competition is open to young designers of up to 30 years of age. The main prize of Young Package 2014 is 1100 Euro. There are several other prizes from the competition partners and a special one, awarded by Slovak Design Centre. The theme for 2014 is smart Take Away package and here is how the organizers describe it:

Honoring the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s passing, Design writer, Steve Heller and Graphic designer, Mirko Ilić are creating a book that showcases poster design work for Shakespeare plays. This is a Call for Entries for designs of published posters, rather than student or personal work. The selected poster designs will be published in a book by Princeton Architectural Press and possibly included in an exhibition to bring attention to Shakespeare’s influence and continued presence in modern day theater.
