Hettich and REHAU are currently accepting student work from around the world in the 2015 edition of the International Design Award competition, which is being organized for the 10th time. The two companies are challenging pupils and students of the faculties product design, architecture, interior design art as well as wood technology and processing worldwide to submit new ideas and concepts for tomorrow’s furniture solutions in the re-organized competition. Three (3) winners will be selected by an independent, international jury consisting of renowned design experts and rewarded with 2,000 Euro each and a trip to Germany lasting several days for their achievement. In addition to this, Hettich and REHAU will award a company prize – a design workshop with employees from both companies.

3×3 (Three by Three), the Magazine of Contemporary Illustration is now accepting entries for the 12th (2015) edition of its International Illustration Show and calling all illustrators around the world to submit their best work. For the first time this year, Three by Three magazine will be awarding medals. Also new in the 12th edition of the Show is a Student category for children’s books illustrations. Awards include best of show, gold, silver and bronze medals as well as distinguished merit and merit awards and honorable mentions. All winners will be promoted online and in the press.

Registration has recently opened for the 2015 Biomimicry Global Design Challenge, an annual design competition for solving critical sustainability issues using nature as a guide, themed “Food Systems”. Students and professionals around the world are invited to apply nature’s design principles while creating solutions that help support a healthy planet. The Biomimicry Institute’s goal is to build an artery of sustainable innovation inspired by nature and to help bring more biomimetic solutions to market. The competition has two rounds, a design concept round followed by a prototype round – the winner of which will receive the Ray C. Anderson Foundation’s $100,000 “Ray of Hope” Prize.
