Shriekfest, the Los Angeles Horror/SciFi Film Festival is currently accepting entries for its filmmaking and screenplay competition for 2015. Organizers seek original films and screenplays, accepting work in five categories: narrative feature, narrative short, narrative super short, feature screenplay, and short screenplay. Prizes will be awarded in each category. Now, in its 15th year, Shriekfest takes place at the legendary Raleigh Studios – the largest independent studio operator in United States – and continues its tradition as Los Angeles’ Premier horror film event, presenting an exciting program of films each fall with beautiful Los Angeles as its backdrop. Both established and emerging filmmakers gain media exposure, connect with the region’s diverse audiences, and participate in an acclaimed event attended by industry professionals as well as horror and scifi fans.

The Renaissance Photography Prize, an international award that showcases outstanding photography while raising funds to support young women with breast cancer, is now open for submission in the 2015 competition. The Prize is in its eighth year and looking to discover emerging and established talent, celebrating the best in photography around the world. It offers over £6,000 in prizes, plus valuable publishing opportunities and international exposure. Entering gives photographers the chance to have their work seen by a panel of some of the industry’s most influential photography critics, as well as being exhibited in Getty Images Gallery, London, UK.
