Branch Technology is hosting the Freeform Home Design Challenge and invites all architects, designers, engineers and artists to investigate the benefits of 3D printing technologies. The challenge is to design a single-family home that can be 3D printed, with the so called Cellular Fabrication™ method. The design should rethink traditional aesthetics, ergonomics, construction, building systems, and structure from the bottom up. Branch Technology will award a total of $10,000 (US) in prize money to competition winners and will construct the first place winner’s proposal. The evaluation process will occur in two phases.

The Genius Loci Weimar Festival has recently opened submissions for its 2016 Video Mapping and Facade Projection Competition, inviting visual artists around the world to submit their concept ideas. Submitted concepts will be displayed in a public exhibition in Weimar, Germany in spring 2016. The best projects will be chosen, among other means, with the help of an audience vote. Each of the three best submissions will be awarded a budget of 15,000 Euro for the creation of a 10-15 minute long high-resolution audio-visual production, to be presented in the form of video mapping on the respective locations during the Festival weekend (12 to 14 August 2016).
