The 2018 Luz y Vanguardias festival at Salamanca has announced its international video mapping contest that will take place from the 14th to the 17th of June 2018. During those four nights, participants will project their creations on the Salamanca’s Townhall at the Plaza Mayor and will have to “play” with its baroque façade. The winner will be awarded 15,000 Euro while the runner up will receive a special prize of 5,000 Euro — sponsored by the Salamanca’s City Council. Both prizes will be decided by a professional jury formed by relevant professionals in the fields of arts, culture, image and communications.

The “Shark Tank of Wellness” competition is a unique global challenge in which three university students are rewarded for their most innovative ideas for the wellness industry. The competition asks students to submit a future-focused, innovative wellness idea, product or service that has the potential to become a profitable business venture. Each individual or team is required to submit a 1-2 minute video and the Concept Submission Form detailing the concept. The three finalists will be flown to the 2018 Global Wellness Summit in Italy to win their share of $10,000 prize money.

Tamayouz Excellence Award is delighted to invite students, designers and architects worldwide to transform the current unused site of the Old Governorate Building into the Baghdad Design Centre in the city’s Cultural District, Al-Rusafa. Participants are asked to transform the current unused site while integrating the damaged facades in their ideas for the new building. The facades will be a memorial for an era in Baghdad’s history. The Harghita, Mureş and Covasna County Councils, together with the Cultural Center of Covasna County and the Lăzarea Cultural and Creation Center, call for application for the 5th Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland (Székelyföldi Grafikai Biennálé). Professional artists and art university students are eligible to participate in the biennial, with maximum 3 artworks. The Main Prize of the Biennial is 2,000 Euro. In addition, three more prizes — Nagy Imre Prize, Plugor Sándor Prize and Nagy Pál Prize — of 1,000 Euro each, will be awarded. The awarded artworks will remain in the property of the Transylvanian Art Center.

Taiwan’s Golden Pin Design Award 2018 Call for Entries is now open and for the first time, international companies, are also eligible to enter and prove their design prowess at the most influential design award in the huaren (Chinese-speaking) world. Previously, entrants needed to be a registered company in a Chinese-speaking country or region in order to participate. This year, the Golden Pin Design Award encourages more international companies to take part by opening the annual competition to companies from anywhere in the world. Golden Pin Best Design winners are invited to attend the exciting award ceremony in Taipei, where they are presented on stage with a bespoke trophy. Winners may also be eligible to access free networking, exhibition, sales, and promotion opportunities provided by the Taiwan Design Center.
