Interference Foundation – the main organizer of the Interference Festival of Visual Communication Forms in Gdańsk – is pleased to open the contest “Freedom of Form” for 2018, inviting entries of visual works. The contest is addressed to individual authors as well as companies, legal persons, organizations, institutions, and artist collectives. Its main aim is to select the best, the most aesthetically and creatively outstanding short visual works in two main categories. The Grand Prix in amount of 2,500 zł sponsored by the City of Gdańsk will be awarded in both main categories. In addition, one Audience prize of 2,000 zł will also be awarded.

Agugiaro & Figna, in collaboration with the ARD&NT Institute (Politecnico di Milano and Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera) is hosting “Le 5 Stagioni” international design competition. The competition’s scope is to enhance innovation in the designing, planning and realization of spaces for the production and consumption of pizza, expressing regenerating potentials and stimulating the development with focus on the relationship between project, architecture and new lifestyle and consumption habits — basically design the success of pizzerias. The total prize money is 7,500 Euro which will be divided into three prizes. The 1st prize is 3,500 Euro.

The Caltech Space Challenge, a 5-day International student space mission design competition, has opened application for 2019. The Challenge is a unique opportunity for young and enthusiastic students to build technical and teamwork skills, interact with world-renowed experts in space exploration and connect to like-minded peers from all around the world. 32 talented and highly-motivated students are brought to the Caltech campus to participate in a week-long space mission design competition. The participants are split into two teams and both teams work under the mentorship of experts from industry, NASA and academia to design their mission concept from scratch to final proposal.

The University of Novi Sad and the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad are calling for entries for the 8th World Biennial of Student Poster. This biannual competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students of art colleges where the discipline of poster art is a part of the curriculum. Monetary prizes, plaques and certificates will be awarded to the best works. The first prize is 1,000 Euro along with a solo exhibition during the next World Biennial of Student Poster – Novi Sad. The second prize is 600 Euro, and the third prize – 300 Euro.

The aim of the competition is to design a carpet, for which CarpetVista will provide the production. The carpet will be hand-tufted or hand-woven using the highest quality materials. Nikon Corporation is pleased to announce the 37th Nikon Photo Contest — one of the world’s largest international photo contests. It has been almost 50 years since the first Contest was held in 1969, and over its long history, photographers from around the world have participated and shown their support for it. To date, more than 410,000 photographers have submitted over 1.62 million photographic works to the Contest, making it a truly international event. The Grand prize for 2018-2019 is 500,000 Japanese yen (~$4,500) in cash. Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes (in Nikon equipment) will also be awarded in each competition category. In addition, two special prizes will be announced as well.

CBC (China Building Centre) is hosting the RUNWAY PARK – International Competition for Young Designer and seeking for renewal plans for the Nanjing Dajiaochang Airport. The competition is an exploration to improve the quality of public space and a journey to search the design originality and artistic creativity.
