The 2020 La Guarimba International Film Festival is calling for short film entries on any theme by filmmakers from all parts of the world. La Guarimba International Film Festival is seeking for Fiction, Animation, Documentary, Experimental films and Music Videos, as well as Children’s Animation of any nationality and language. The selection for 2020 will include around 70 films that will be selected to be screened at the festival and will be part of the competition. The best Fiction, Documentary and Animation films will each be awarded with 800 Euro and a trophy. The best Music Video will also be awarded and a special Audience Award will be announced. In addition, the organizers in partnership with UNICEF Italia will create La Grotta dei Piccoli Children’s Animation program with more than 70 films selected in a competition program for children.

Non Architecture Competitions is accepting entries for their 11th international design competition — Re-Draw.02 – Guggenheim New York Experimental Architecture Representation. Participants are asked to draft one image, with absolute freedom of scale, technique and level of abstraction, to ‘represent’ an iconic architecture. The Guggenheim New York can be portrayed as a whole, a part, or a collage of disconnected moments. Creativity, criticality and innovation is encouraged. Non Architecture Competitions will select one winner, selected by the jury collectively, and 6 honourable mentions, selected by each juror individually.

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) is accepting submissions for its 9th International Student Tall Building Design Competition. The goal of the competition, which is open to all students who are currently enrolled at the university level, is to shed new light on the meaning and value of tall buildings in modern society. The competition will distribute $21,000 in prizes to exceptional projects. Top finalists will also have the opportunity to present in real time for winning distinctions during the CTBUH 2020 International Conference’s core programming, which will take place in Singapore from 20–21 October, 2020.

In order to push forward the development of picture book creation, publishing and picture-book-related industries, Jiangsu Phoenix Publishing & Media Group established the Oriental Kids Picture Book Award. The awards are held every two years, with the purpose of discovering and cultivating high-level picture book creators, facilitating the publication and promotion of outstanding original masterpieces, creating a highland of picture book creation and publication, and building the children’s spirit in the new era. The Print Center is very pleased to announce the 95th Annual International Competition, open to all artists using Photography and/or Printmaking as critical components in their work. The intention is to highlight local, national and international artists who utilize photography and printmaking in new and intriguing ways, both in content and process. Three of the Finalists will be selected by The Print Center’s curator to receive solo exhibitions at The Print Center (January–March 2021) along with a honorarium. AAPM 10 “Portrait” invites photographers to explore humanity in each of us. From the classic studio portraits to the rise of the selfie, the best portraits give a glimpse into somebody’s soul, a connection formed across countries, cultures and ages. The organizers seek the submission of photographs that celebrate the aesthetic and conceptual considerations involved in the creation of the portrait: celebrate diversity, creativity, honesty and self-expression. Studio portraits, candid street shots, self-portraits, conceptual and fine art all welcome. All genres, capture types, color and B&W, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission.

The Museum of Flight in Seattle is accepting submissions for 2020, for its annual Spirit of Flight juried photography exhibition. For this year’s exhibition the organizers request photographers submit images reflecting upon the “Spirit of Flying Home”. Photographers are encouraged to submit a broad range of interpretations embodying the theme. Selected by a jury of Museum staff and volunteers, the exhibition showcases images curated from hundreds of photographs submitted by photographers from around the world. There will be three awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Each of the winners will be featured on the Museum’s website.
