Now celebrating their 9th year, the International Visual Identity Awards are the first independent international design competition dedicated solely to visual identity. Their mission is to formally recognise and celebrate the world’s best visual identity design. There are 21 categories in the International Visual Identity Awards design competition. One winner and a second and third place runner-up will be announced in each category. One overall winner receives the title of “Visual Identity of the Year”.

Photometria International Photography Festival, organized for 14th continuous year in Greece, is calling for entries to its 2022 Photography Awards on the theme “Looking for the Light”. Participants are invited to interpret the theme in only one original picture photo. The best three works will be awarded with prizes provided by the event sponsors. The exhibition “Looking for the Light” in Ioannina city, will also travel to other Greek cities after the end of the festival.

Taiwan Water Resources Agency is hosting the first international competition for combining hydraulic engineering, resilience planning and space aesthetics in Taiwan. Hoowave Resilient Township and Waterfront Landscape Design International Competition intends to break through traditional river engineering design, introduce innovative ideas, and hope to establish a demonstration model of river design aesthetics through the perspective of resilient planning, which includes a design blueprint for the overall concept, and integrate existing cultural resources. The total prize is NT$3,000,000.

The 2022 LIT Lighting Design Awards is now accepting entries into its two major categories, Lighting Product Design and Lighting Design. The program promises to attract entries from some of the most forward creative lighting firms and independent designers from all around the world. The LIT Lighting Design Awards was created to recognize the efforts of talented international lighting product designers and lighting implementers. The organizers believe that lighting is both an art and a science, and is one of the most important elements of design. The LIT Awards were envisioned to celebrate creativity and innovation in the field of lighting products and applications.

With the »District of the Generations« competition, the city of Schorndorf, a medium-sized center with about 40,000 inhabitants in the Rems-Murr district, is planning an urban development extension of the »suburb« to the north of the train station. The purpose of the competition is to restructure urban development and design an open space concept based on that development to repurpose the area of the former train station in Schorndorf into a liveable residential district. It is directed towards interdisciplinary applicants or interdisciplinary applicant consortia that cover the specialist disciplines of urban development and landscape architecture. The awarding authority shall offer a total net amount of 48,000 € for the competition. 20,000 € are reserved for the 1st Prize winner.

The 2022 Taipei Design Award is now calling for entries. The organizers are looking for outstanding international designs across multiple disciplines. Taipei City Government organizes the Taipei Design Award in the ethos of “Design for Adaptive City”, as an on-going gesture to the world, particularly to those with a passion for creativeness and design, a gesture in projecting the urban branding imagery of “Design Taipei; Dream Taipei”. This year’s total prize money is up to NT$ 3.8 million including NT$ 600,000 for the grand prize — the Taipei City Mayor Award.

The Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) 2022, on the theme “One World“, has been announced and scheduled for 1st June—15th July, 2022. All students, who currently enroll in senior high schools or above, are invited to prepare their best work and participate in the competition. The total prize fund for 2022 is more than NT$2,700,000 in prize money — approximately NT$400,000 of which are reserved for the winner of the Grand Prix. Trophies and certificates will also be awarded.
