The GCSP Prize for Transformative Future seeks to reward groundbreaking concepts that offer exceptional promise in addressing peace and security challenges. Applications may come from any country, but the potential impact of the concepts submitted should extend beyond national borders in their scope or thinking. The prize for the application coming in the first position is a fully funded 2-month incubation programme within the GCSP’s Creative Spark in Geneva (worth CHF 15,000) and a certificate of excellence. The two other finalist applications will receive a certificate of recognition.

The Lions International Seregno AID in collaboration with UN Water, the patronage of the European Community is organizing the eighth edition of the World Water Day Photo Contest, #WWDPHC to raise public awareness of the critical issue of water in our era. The competition is open to all lovers of photography enthusiasts and all supporters of environmental issues. The campaign title is Leveraging Water for Peace. The Overall Winner will be awarded with 1,500 Euro. In addition, a total of more than 4,000 Euro in other prizes will be awarded as well. The awards are not cumulative and are distributed between the competition sections.

ARCUS Project’s artist-in-residence program provides opportunities for emerging artists in the field of contemporary art to cultivate their artistic creativity and vision. The program particularly emphasizes research-based practices and presents the initial results of these processes at open studios. A 90 days (30 August — 27 November, 2024) artist-in-residency program in Moriya, Ibaraki, Japan. The participants receive stipends (567,000 JPY) for living and work expenses. A studio, accommodation, round-trip airfare, and staff support are provided.

The Viviane Esders Endowment Fund is pleased to announce the opening of the call for applications for the third edition of the Prix Viviane Esders. The Prix Viviane Esders honors each year the work of a professional European photographer over 60 years old, independent and engaged in a creative process.
