Volume Zero invites each one of you to participate in the 25th edition of their architectural competitions and the 5th edition of Tiny House Architecture Competition. The Tiny House Movement, once again, celebrates the concept of simple yet resourceful living. The homes can be designed to re-imagine sustainability through the concept of maximum usable space in a minimum footprint. A total of $4,500 will be awarded to the best four projects, along with certificates and publication. 10 Honorable mentions will also be awarded with certificates.

Kokuyo Design Award is an international competition for product design that aims to co-create with talented designers and support their activities. The theme for the Kokuyo Design Award 2025 is “prototype.” In product design, the word “prototype” is generally used to mean a pre-finished product or a sample before completion, but for this project, Kokuyo saw it as “an original idea that has the potential to lead to the next step.” A well thought-out prototype will inspire others and serve as a catalyst for the future. The Kokuyo Design Award 2025 is looking for product designs that will be the starting point for the future. The best design will be awarded with 2,000,000 Japanese yen — about $12,800. Three Merit awards of 500,000 Japanese yen each, will also be announced and special prizes may as well be awarded. Up to 10 winners will also be announced for the New Generation Award and will each be awarded with 30,000 Japanese yen.

Non Architecture is calling for registration to the seventh Re-Draw competition, dedicated to The Line. The Line, a highly ambitious urban development project in Saudi Arabia, promises to reshape city planning and architectural design. Part of the larger NEOM initiative, The Line aims to create a zero-carbon, ultra-modern urban environment spanning 170 kilometers. While its vision of sustainability, technology, and human-centric living is impressive, the project raises significant questions about its feasibility, environmental impact, and social implications. Non Architecture will award one winner, one selected by each jury, and a total of 7 honourable mentions. The 1st Prize is 1,000 Euro, publication in the Non Architecture Competitions book and website and reviews in digital magazines and several architecture blogs.

The BlueCat Screenplay Competition, now in its 27th year, is open for submissions for 2025. BlueCat remains committed to the undiscovered writer and continues its tradition of providing written analysis on every script submitted. BlueCat accepts features, shorts, and pilots and will award $8,000 in cash prizes in 2025, including the Fellini Award, which gives $2,000 to the best script written by an international writer.

Creative Quarterly (CQ) magazine has opened its 77th international juried competition, inviting participation by professionals, as well as students. CQ seeks for the best art, advertising, design, illustration and photography done in the past six months. The Best of Show winner for each quarter will receive $750.
