The Viviane Esders Endowment Fund is pleased to announce the opening of the call for applications for the fourth edition of the Prix Viviane Esders. The Prix Viviane Esders honors each year the work of a professional European photographer over 60 years old, independent and engaged in a creative process. The prize rewards the winner with an exceptional financial award of €60,000 given by Viviane Esders. €10,000 of this endowment is to be used by the photographer to contribute to the publication of a monograph.

The Lumen Prize is calling all artists engaging with technology to prepare their best work and enter the competition for 2025. The Lumen Prize celebrates the very best art created with technology through a global competition. These are the nine categories you may enter in 2025, each with a $2,000 prize. 50-75 artists will become finalists, whose work will then be reviewed and selected by the Jury Panel. Each year the Jury also selects one Gold Award Winner, who is determined to have created the best work across all categories. In 2025, the Gold Award Winner will be awarded $12,000.

The National Space Society (NSS) is calling for submissions to the 2025 NSS Gerard K. O’Neill Space Settlement Contest. Submissions must relate to free space settlements. Settlements may not be on a planet or moon, although support activities such as mining may be. Settlements must be permanent homes, not temporary work camps. Typically, what distinguishes an outpost from a settlement is generational habitation. Submissions may focus on one or a few aspects of space settlement and supporting systems, including mines, activities leading up to settlement (such as space hotels), economic and social issues, etc. The best submission, regardless of category, wins the grand prize. The submission will be hosted on the contest web site. Finally, the highest ranking entry whose student(s) attend(s) ISDC will receive the Herman Rubin Memorial Scholarship of $5,000 and give a talk at the conference.

The Nikon Film and Photo Contest 2024-2025 is open for entries to all photographers/filmmakers from around the world. The theme of this year’s competitions is “Inspire“. The Grand prize for the 2024-2025 cycle is 500,000 Japanese yen in cash for each competition. Global Health 50/50 encourage submissions that explore disability as the product of social, institutional, architectural and representational systems that invoke different forms of participation of people with physical and cognitive differences in society. The residents of Marou, Fiji and the Land Art Generator Initiative (LAGI) invite you to design a permanent destination artwork that will supply clean and reliable electricity and drinking water to the coastal village’s 67 households, support tourism, and help to build a sustainable future for generations. Two winning teams will each be provided with a stipend of $100,000 USD to advance their design proposal and build a functioning prototype of their idea in Fiji. The Lions Club Seregno AID – ETS organizes the ninth edition of the World Water Day Photo Contest, #WWDPHC. The 2025 campaign’s theme is “Water Preservation” to raise awareness about the importance of water as a resource to be preserved to maintain the balance of all ecosystems, in line with the World Water Day theme “Glacier Preservation,” celebrating the International Year of Glacier Preservation. The 2026 World Habitat Awards are now open for entries! World Habitat, in collaboration with UN-Habitat, is looking for the world’s best housing solutions. Eligible for entry are projects from around the world that focus on affordable and adequate housing, that are in progress or have been completed in the last ten years and project that have been designed and/or delivered in close collaboration with the residents/local community. Two winners of the 2026 World Habitat Awards will receive a Gold Award and £10,000. Trophies will also be presented to the Gold Award winning projects and travel and accommodation costs are met for one representative of each project to attend the awards ceremony.
