MEDS (Meeting of Design Students) Croatia is calling for tutors for the MEDS Workshop 2025, titled Rijeka — City of Textures.
MEDS Workshop is a collaborative educational event aimed at fostering learning and professional development in the context of design, architecture, and complementary disciplines.
The aim of MEDS Workshop is to execute 15 projects centered around specific topics, as outlined in the provided tutor and theme packs, within the urban spaces of Rijeka, Croatia.
The Tutor Call is a competition for young designers and others who are interested in gaining experience at teaching, guiding participants through practical projects, and transforming public spaces. The goal of the call is to select the most promising project proposals that will be realized during the workshop.
This competition seeks projects that address specific topics related to public spaces or their elements (such as street furniture, micro-installations, etc.) and respond to the needs of local communities. In addition, the projects serve as a platform for emerging designers to build their portfolios, gain valuable experience, develop new skills, and showcase their creative achievements.
The workshop is open to students and young professionals from all design-related fields and complementary disciplines worldwide. Both tutors and participants must be at least 18 years old.
Individuals or teams may apply to participate by submitting one or more project proposals. The total number of participants and tutors is limited to 200 people.
The workshop will take place from 3–17 August, 2025 in and around the city of Rijeka, Croatia.
The chosen projects will be implemented at MEDS Workshop in Rijeka through the tutors and their project participants. The organizer as well as MEDS Network (and usually external media, too) provide social media coverage of the projects including their results. Tutors receive a certificate for their successful tutoring/ project execution at the end of MEDS Workshop.
The organizer of MEDS Workshop 2025 is the non-profit organization Meeting of Design Students Crotatia.
MEDS Workshop 2025 – Tutor Call – Fees
A participation fee of 350 Euro is required from each individual (tutors and participants) to cover workshop-related costs. For tutors, this fee includes accommodation in a shared room from 30 July 2025 to 17 August 2025, two meals per day, as well as tools and materials necessary for the workshop.
