The Portrait of Humanity – a photography award that seeks to prove there is more that unites us than sets us apart – is accepting entries for 2020. 1854 Media, publisher of British Journal of Photography, is inviting photographers of any level, to show the world through their eyes, to capture the many faces of humanity, and to document the universal expressions of life; laughter, courage, moments of reflection, journeys to work, first hellos, last goodbyes, and everything in between. What’s normal to you might be extraordinary to someone else. As part of Portrait of Humanity 2020, 200 shortlisted photographs will be published in the Portrait of Humanity Book, Vol.2 and 30 winning images and three winning bodies of work will be exhibited at various locations across the world. Up to 100 commended images will also be exhibited digitally on Clear Channel screens internationally to be seen by millions.

BJP International Photography Award 2019

British Journal of Photography is inviting photographers from all over the world to submit their most captivating body of work to BJP International Photography Award 2019. Photographers of all levels are eligible to participate. The winning series will be exhibited in a month-long solo show at the renowned contemporary art gallery, TJ Boulting based in Fitzrovia, London, UK. In addition, up to £5,000 production grant for the solo show, travel & accommodation to London and several other prizes will be awarded to the winner. 2nd and 3rd place winners, will also be selected.

Portrait of Humanity – International Photography Award

1854 Media, publisher of British Journal of Photography, together with Magnum Photos, are calling photographers from around the world to enter “Portrait of Humanity”. Portrait of Humanity is a new initiative, aiming to create one of the most far-reaching collaborative photography exhibitions in history. 200 shortlisted images will be featured in the Portrait of Humanity Book. 50 winning images will be exhibited at various locations around the world from September – December 2019. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will share $10,000 in grant awards to create projects that explore their interpretations of humanity. All shortlisted and winning photographers will receive extensive international press coverage.
