The 72 Hour Urban Action festival has opened its call for 2019, inviting individual or group applications by participants worldwide. In 2019, the site is Jena-Lobeda, Germany. Ten mixed teams with ten different missions will take over ten sites with only three days and nights to design and build projects in response to local needs. 72 Hour Urban Action Loebda will take place in 2-5 May, 2019 and will challenge local residents and international participants to collaboratively create public spaces in the district.

72 Hour Urban Action, the world’s first realtime architecture competition, has recently opened applications for the 2014 “World Championship of Gameful Architecture” competition, to be held in Witten, Germany. Game designers and architects, local craftspeople, international designers, Ruhr Valley residents engaged in clubs and associations as well as professional hobbyists, tinkerers, gamers, designers, scenographers, philosophers and all DIY enthusiasts are invited to apply for the competition. This summer, Witten will host a cultural experiment bringing Architecture and Game design together, during which five international teams will take over the streets of Witten and transform five neglected sites through gameful architecture interventions.

Applications are now open for the 2013 72 Hour Urban Action competition – the world’s first real-time architecture competition. In it, selected international teams are given only three days & three nights to design and build interventions in public space in response to local needs.
