BBC Wildlife Magazine has launched its 2013 Camera-trap Photo of the Year competition, its annual global search for the very best images taken by a remote camera. The contest, sponsored by the World Land Trust and Enterprise Plants, is open to both field researchers and keen amateurs. Now in its fourth year, the BBC Wildlife Magazine Camera-trap Photo of the Year competition aims to discover the most visually exciting or significant camera-trap images being produced around the world.

Now in its fourth year, the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year competition invites UK and international artists to show their best wildlife artworks and compete for unique prizes. BBC Wildlife Magazine will make sure that the Wildlife Artist of the Year 2012 takes part in a 10-day painting safari in Botswana, worth £3,450! Artworks are accepted in 13 different categories and may feature 2D works (not generated on a computer) of birds, mammals, waterlife, invertebrates and plants. BBC Wildlife Magazine is calling all artists to submit entries for the 2011 Wildlife Artist of the Year Award competition. The competition is open to all artists aged 18 or over, amateur or professional. The overall winner will receive a holiday to Borneo. All of the category winners will be exhibited at the prestigious annual exhibition of the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society in August 2011, in a special display alongside 200 other artists and sculptors. All of the category winners will be published in the August 2011 issue of BBC Wildlife.
