Eleven Magazine opens registration for Plastic Worlds – a competition about plastic in our Oceans, and invites creatives and visionaries from all around the world to join in. Participants are asked to think of ways to fight the plastic problem in our waters – from rivers to oceans – and turn a threat into an opportunity. The competition is developed around two themes, each with a specific objective and site typology linked to it. The Winner will be awarded with £2,000 and there will be a Runner-Up award of £400. At least 6 Honorable Mentions will be announced as well.

Eleven’s competition “Safari: Zimbabwe 2017” calls on creatives from all around the world to design innovative concepts for a super sensory safari lodge in the heart of Matobo National Park. In Swahili, the word “safari” means journey, and this is exactly where Eleven wants to take you through their competition: a journey into the romance and adventure of the wild, into the customs, local rituals and the beating heart of Africa. The outcome of this journey? A new super sensory safari lodge concept the likes of which the world has never seen before, nestled in the heart of Matobo’s granite rock formations and mysterious ancient rock paintings.

Eleven has announced their latest ideas and design competition — Marstopia, the official sequel to their 2016 award-winning international challenge Moontopia. Creatives from all around the world are invited to imagine Marstopia — the first human colony on Mars — and in doing so, begin to define Martian vernacular design. A total of £2,500 will be awarded in prize money, of which £2,000 are reserved for the winning team.

Eleven Magazine recently launched the first edition of Biomimicry – an architecture and design competition focused on nature-inspired innovation. The call is open for nature-inspired designs in the fields of Architecture, Design, Technology and Fashion that showcase innovation and biomimicry practices. The winning project will be awarded with £2,000 and will become part of Eleven’s Hall of Fame. Additionally, one Runner Up project will be awarded with £400, six (6) Honourable Mentions will be selected and a People’s Choice Award will be announced. All awarded teams will be published in Eleven Magazine and Eleven’s media partners.

Eleven Magazine has recently launched the 2015 Cambodia single-stage open international design competition, focusing on Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake. The intention is to design a sustainable movable structure on Cambodia’s UNESCO Tonle Sap Lake to act as medical clinic, ecological research platform and educational facility for the 1.2 million people living in floating villages. A total of £2500 is to be awarded to the winner, runner-up and people’s favorite plus 6 honorable mentions. Awarded entries will be featured on Eleven, Dezeen and Bustler. All entries will be exhibited online.
