The challenge is to design a product or system featuring aluminum extrusions. The design must be original and make use of at least one extruded aluminum component. A total of $15,500 in scholarship awards for top designs from students and $10,000 in cash awards for the best designs from professionals – plus a $3,500 Grand Prize awarded across all categories and classes – are available.

Professional designers and engineers will compete in a separate competition class.

Awards for the 2020 competition are valued at $27,000, of which $15,500 are reserved for student scholarships. The rest $11,500 are reserved for the awards in the Professional Class.
