7th Advanced Architecture Contest: Responsive City

The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) is pleased to announce the 7th Advanced Architecture Contest, on the theme of Responsive City. The competition aims to promote discussion and research through which to generate insights and visions, ideas and proposals that help us envisage what the city and the habitat of the 21st century will be like. The challenge is to design any project directly related to responsive cities — buildings, sensors, devices, urban planning, means of transportation, fab cities, energy systems etc. The leaders of the best three (3) winning projects will be awarded cash prizes and a one-year grant to take the Master in Advanced Architecture at IAAC and research in greater depth the manufacture of self-sufficient architecture. The total value of prizes is 62,250 Euro!

6th Advanced Architecture International Competition – Productive City

The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) and FabLab Barcelona are pleased to announce the 6th Advanced Architecture Contest, on the theme of Productive City. The aim of the competition is to promote discussion and research through which to generate insights and visions, ideas and proposals that help us envisage what the city and the habitat of the 21st century will be like. Awards are valued at 60,000 Euro and include cash prizes, one year grants to take the Master in Advanced Architecture at IAAC and Designjet printers. Selected projects will be featured in a book, to be published in April 2017.

4th Advanced Architecture Contest: City-Sense

The Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia and HP are pleased to announce the 4th Advanced Architecture Contest, on the theme of City-Sense, Shaping our environment with real-time data. The aim of the competition is to promote online discussion and research through which to generate insights and visions, ideas and proposals that help us envisage what the city and the habitat of the 21st century will be like. The competition is open to architects, ingeniers, planners, designers and artists who want to contribute to progress in making the world more habitable. The three teams leaders will receive cash prizes, and a one-year grant to take the Master in Advanced Architecture at IAAC.
