Confindustria Ceramica (the Italian Association of Ceramics) and the Italian Trade Agency are proud to announce that the 2026 edition of the Ceramics of Italy International Tile Competition is now open for entries. For the first time, Ceramics of Italy’s two long-standing competitions — the 30-year North American Design Competition and the 11-year La Ceramica e il Progetto based in Italy — are joining forces to recognize the best projects featuring Italian ceramic and porcelain tile on a global scale. The program expands the competition to honor outstanding projects by architects and interior designers worldwide that utilize ceramic and porcelain tile from Ceramics of Italy member brands. Selected by an esteemed international jury, winners will receive cash prizes and join a CEU-accredited trip to Bologna, Italy, where they will be honored at a special VIP award ceremony during Cersaie 2026 – the world’s leading exhibition for ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings.

The Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition is officially accepting submissions for its 2025 North American edition! This competition awards the top North American and European architects in alternating years that showcase inventive uses of Italian ceramic and porcelain tile from member brands. Organized by Confindustria Ceramica (the Italian Association of Ceramics) and the Italian Trade Agency, this prestigious, long-running awards program honors North American architects and designers who showcase the technical and aesthetic benefits of Italian ceramic and porcelain tile in projects completed between January 2020 – September 2024.

Now in its 28th year, the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition is currently accepting entries for 2021. The Ceramics of Italy 2021 competition is open for unique installations in built projects around the world that use Italian ceramic and porcelain tile. Built project winners will enjoy a 5-day CEU trip to Bologna, Italy for Cersaie 2021, the world’s leading exhibition of ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings, plus the opportunity to present their projects at Coverings 2021 in Orlando, Florida.

Now in its 27th year, the Ceramics of Italy Tile Competition is officially accepting entries for 2020. The Ceramics of Italy 2020 Tile Competition awards top North American architects and designers for their exceptional work and creative use of Italian ceramic or porcelain tile. An international jury of design experts will review submissions from all over the continent and ultimately select winners in four categories – residential, commercial, institutional, and student. Winners will receive $2,000 cash, an all-expenses-paid CEU-accredited trip to Bologna, Italy for Cersaie 2020, and the opportunity to present their projects in front of a large audience at Coverings in New Orleans.

Now in its 26th year, the Ceramics of Italy Tile competition is officially accepting entries for 2019. Each year, the competition awards top North American architects and designers for their outstanding work on imaginative projects that incorporate the innovative qualities of Italian ceramic and porcelain tile. Winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Orlando, Florida and the opportunity to present their projects in front of a large audience at Coverings 2019. The prize package for built project winners also includes $3,000 cash and a 5-day all-expenses-paid CEU-accredited trip to Bologna, Italy for Cersaie 2019.
