Photometria are pleased to announce the open call for the 18th edition of the Photometria Photography Festival. As the festival reaches its 18th edition, it symbolically enters a phase of maturity, capable of reflecting on and exploring central issues of transition. Coming of Age (18+) focuses on the process of coming of age, not as a chronological or legal milestone, but as a multifaceted condition shaped by internal and social ruptures, redefinitions, and acts of self-determination. The Festival will award three (3) main prizes provided by sponsors and host an exhibition of the best 25 selected works.

The Photometria International Photography Festival, as part of its ongoing development and support of young creators, announces the launch of the “Youth Collective 2026” competition. Youth Collective is aimed at young artists aged 18 to 25, regardless of their educational background. The festival aims to provide a space and opportunities for a wider range of emerging artists, encouraging contemporary photographic expression and experimentation. The best photographs will be selected by the jury and will be presented in the exhibition “Youth Collective 2026”, which will be part of the 18th Photometria International Photography Festival, at a venue to be announced soon.

The Photometria International Photography Festival is calling for entries to the „Photometria Φωtobook“ exhibition contest — addressed to artists and self-publishers from around the world. Τhe open call for entries is focusing on artist books, self-published photobooks, limited edition books, zines and DIY publications related to photography. The selected books will be presented at the Photometria Photography Center during the 18th edition of the Photometria International Photography Festival, taking place from 26 September to 29 November 2026. The exhibition will later be hosted at ZOETROPE Athens, on a date to be announced.

Photometria International Photography Festival, wishing to continue the promotion of modern photographic creation, announces a portfolio contest from 1st November to 15th December 2025. Participants are asked for one (1) portfolio of fifteen (15) photographs, of which eight (8) will be selected. Through them, the photographer will deal with a topic of his preference, an idea or even the narration of a story. The best nine (9) portfolios that will be selected will be the material of the exhibition entitled “Parallel Voices”, for 2026.

In the context of Photometria Awards 2025 judged by Magnum photographer Alec Soth, Photometria International Photography Festival announces an open call for photographers from around the world to submit their perspective on “Non Stop Pop“. The “Non Stop Pop” competition is open to all photographers, both professional and amateur, who wish to present their own perspective on the complex and incessant influence of pop culture. The overall winner will be awarded with a NIKON Z 30 camera and NIKKOR Z DX 12-28mm f/3.5-5.6 PZ VR lens, courtesy of Damkalidis SA. The second and third winners will be awarded with signed photo albums by Alec Soth. One of the top three winners gets the opportunity to participate in the next Photometria event with a solo exhibition.
