Registration has recently opened for the 2015 Biomimicry Global Design Challenge, an annual design competition for solving critical sustainability issues using nature as a guide, themed “Food Systems”. Students and professionals around the world are invited to apply nature’s design principles while creating solutions that help support a healthy planet. The Biomimicry Institute’s goal is to build an artery of sustainable innovation inspired by nature and to help bring more biomimetic solutions to market. The competition has two rounds, a design concept round followed by a prototype round – the winner of which will receive the Ray C. Anderson Foundation’s $100,000 “Ray of Hope” Prize.
