South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference & Festivals is accepting applications for the 2019 Place By Design Competition from all parts of the world. Place by Design is SXSW’s public space design competition, celebrating transformative work at the intersection of art, technology, and design that rethinks how we use and interact with the places around us. Selected Finalists will present their work in a fast-paced showcase during the Design track at SXSW 2019. Each designer or team will present their work in a fast-paced pitch competition and participate in a Q&A session with the judges, who ultimately determine the winner.

The SXSW Festival has re-branded its Interactive Awards competition to SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards and is currently accepting interactive work for 2015. With this competition, SXSW wants to honor the best and latest advancements in the digital industry, in 2014 and the people who made them happen. The Awards competition includes fourteen (14) competition awards and four (4) Special Honors awards. The SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards are all about the newest / freshest / most innovative trends, products and developments in the new media industry. All categories are open exclusively to developments or redesigns accomplished in the 2014 calendar year.

South By Southwest (SXSW) Conferences and Festivals have opened for registrations and submissions. Conference registrations, hotel requests, Film Festival submissions, Interactive Awards and SXSW Accelerator applications and Music Festival showcase applications are now being accepted. SXSW offers the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies, fostering creative and professional growth alike. The SXSW Music, SXSW Film and SXSW Interactive festivals will take place Friday, 7 March through Sunday, 16 March, 2014 in Austin, Texas.

SXSW Film 2012 is still open for submissions. Filmmakers are invited to submit their new features, short films, music videos and title sequences to the annual event, a renowned destination for discovery. The SXSW Film Conference and Festival is a uniquely creative environment featuring the dynamic convergence of talent, smart audiences and industry heavyweights. The SXSW Film Festival is a highly competitive program consisting of several different sections, curated in-house by SXSW Film Programmers. SXSW is an official qualifying festival for the Academy Awards Short Film competition. The Best Narrative Short and Best Animated Short winners become eligible for the Academy Awards.

The SXSW Interactive Awards uncovers the best new digital work, from websites to web applications and beyond, while celebrating those who are building tomorrow’s online trends. Founded in 1997, this competition was initially known as the SXSW Web Awards. Compete for a chance to win industry exposure, tech-related prize packages, bragging rights and acclaim from fellow trend-setting developers at the awards ceremony in March, 2011.
