The Telly Awards launches 44th call for entries by celebrating the opportunity for creativity to be bold, different, and stand out with the theme, “Break Through the Static”. The Telly Awards is the world’s largest award honoring excellence in video and television across all screens. Expanding on its mission to highlight and honor the efforts of video and television creators who amplify important social issues within the community, The Telly Awards is rolling out more relevant categories including Corporate Social Responsibility and Pro Bono. The Telly Awards is also recognizing those who have flourished in the ever-changing environment of virtual production by unveiling even more specific Craft categories such as Virtual Art Direction, Use of Motion Capture, and Digital Environments. Documentary and Animation categories will be broken into Long Form, Short Form, and Series to recognize the different approaches these formats require.

This is reflected in the new editorial-driven categories, including Workplace Culture, Hybrid Events and Sustainability, and expanded categories reflecting new production techniques: Remote Production, Virtual Events, Animation and D&I and Social Impact. The Telly Awards annually showcases the best work created within television and across video, for all screens. Receiving over 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents, Telly Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world. The Telly Awards recognizes work that has been created on the behalf of a client, for a specific brand and/or company (including your own) or self-directed as a creative endeavor.

The Telly Awards Announces 42nd Annual call for entries with new categories celebrating diversity, social impact, and remote production. Mirroring the industry’s rapid evolution amid a range of challenges (specifically live action filming), these new additions include editorial/animation-driven categories like Use of Stock Footage, Virtual Events & Experiences, Influencer & Celebrity, Remote Production, and Museums & Galleries, who have turned to finding audiences online. Series has also grown to incorporate the already existing Diversity & Inclusion, Social Impact, and Animation sub-categories, along with more standard expansions like Online and Television Series which now includes Food & Beverage, Beauty & Lifestyle, Education, and Discovery as well as genre-based categories like Sci-Fi, Horror, True Crime, and Reality. The theme of this year’s awards is “Your Stories Defy The Limits”, encompassing the creativity and storytelling efforts that surfaced in response to the unique challenges presented by 2020.

The Telly Awards opens its 41st annual call for entries, offering several exciting new categories that signal the continued growth in creative approaches to the rising digital video production, storytelling, and distribution landscape. To show its commitment to this creative expansion, The 41st Telly Awards has unveiled its new suite of Immersive & Mixed Reality categories, which embrace media from VR, 360 video, and AR. Along with new Social Impact categories, the awards will also introduce an expansion of its Diversity & Inclusion categories. Telly Awards entries will be evaluated by members of The Award Judging Council drawn from a diverse mix of advertising, media, tech, and video industry leaders. The awards will be anchored by the second installment of the Telly Awards’ video and film screening series – taking place in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Toronto, Berlin, London, and Amsterdam.
