Design X Social is an annual global innovation challenge, for the international design community to get together to tackle pressing social issues. The challenge is open and free for all to enter, and registrations are now open! The theme for Design X Social ’22 is Designing for Crisis. As the world emerges from the pandemic’s clutches, and several other crises have severely hit us. Be it the war in Ukraine or the Sri Lankan economic crisis, the world continues to go through challenging times. Such anthropogenic disasters have disrupted the global economy and the well-being of people, making us wonder if the world will ever heal. Amid worldwide crises, can we take inspiration from resilient economies like Japan after the World War or Norway after the COVID pandemic? Can our creative community design resilient and sustainable systems for individuals, and society at community, national and international levels? These questions form the basic premise of this year’s theme at DXS’22.
