The Union of Moscow architects invites professionals to participate in The Open Architectural and Town-planning Competition “The Activation of the Kazan City Urban Functions in the Water Area of the Volga Bend”. The Competition is arranged to get a conceptual, structural and functional spatial organization of the territory in the water area of the Volga bend. The new spaces should include a developed recreational component and be rich of public, tourist and cultural-sports functions. The prize fund is 600,000 Ruble (almost $10,000), of which 300,000 Ruble are reserved for the First prize. The awarded designs will be published in mass-media, which act as information partners of the “Eco-Shore 2018” Festival.

The Union of Moscow Architects and Nizhny Novgorod Department of the Union of Architects of Russia are hosting an open architectural and urban competition called: The Spit in Nizhny Novgorod. The Competition is organized in order to get in Nizhny Novgorod, on the territory limited by the Samarkandskaya and Betancourt Streets and the Volga and Oka rivers embankments, some conceptual town-planning proposals for creating a city recreation center with a developed recreational component and filled with social, cultural and sports functions by means of an equitable creative contest. The three (3) best designs will be awarded with monetary prizes in a total of 600,000 Rubles — of which 300,000 Rubles are reserved for the design awarded with the 1st Prize.

Тhe Union of Moscow Architects and the Union of Architects of Azerbaijan are hosting an architecture and urban planning competition for the regeneration of the Coastal Marine Industrial Area of Baku City. The competition seeks to discover ideas for conceptual solution demonstrating a contemporary and innovative approach to the complex development of the coastal territories in Baku with elements of public and tourist infrastructure. The organizers will award a total of $4,250 (US) to three prize winners. Of the total prize fund, $2,000 are reserved for the best solution and the winner of the 1st Prize. The 2nd Prize is $1,500 and the third, $750. Special prizes for individual achievements and appropriate solutions might also be awarded.
