In celebration of its 40th anniversary, NRDC is offering its first-ever Environmental Art Prize. The goal of the prize is to remind viewers of the earth’s natural beauty and to draw attention to the serious environmental threats facing our planet. The winner, chosen by jury, will have the opportunity to be featured in an exhibition at New York’s Nabi Gallery in June and July, 2010. To enter, artists must submit images of six environmentally related paintings, drawings, prints, or mixed media pieces via Flickr. Photographs, sculptures, videos, and conceptual or performance art pieces will not be considered. Finalists will be announced by the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, 22 April 2010.

Visions from the Future turns bright looks to the earth and the sky inspired by cosmological and cosmogonic visions, explores the alchemy of our earth, our history, the social evolution, spirituality and the mysteries surrounding man. Visions of the Future 2010 calls all the video makers and audiovisual researchers to create, shaping image and sound, works that pass through us to imagine IRIDESCENT WORLDS. All the works which will pass the selection will be screened at the Cinema Massimo in Torino with reply at Hiroshima Mon Amour.
