The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and Hospitality Design call for entries for the 15th IIDA/HD Product Design Competition to honor innovation, function and aesthetic advancements in the hospitality industry. Products designed for the environment of a hospitality installation, that are o- ered for sale or use after 1 June 2010 are eligible for design awards. Winners will be announced at the Hospitality Design Platinum Circle Gala during the HD Expo in Las Vegas.

Brooklyn-based design collective Terreform One announces the second annual One Prize Award, an open call for proposals for the NYC Blue Network and Clean Tech World Expo E3NYC in 2014, with $10,000 to go to the winning contestant. Since 2006, Terreform One has been a pioneer in green design and sustainable construction technology. With visionary proposals in the fields of public transit, waste reuse and community development, as well as lectures, workshops and exhibitions, the Terreform One team has pushed the conceptual envelope for ecologically sensitive architecture; One Prize is the group’s annual design and science award to promote green design in cities. Last year, the competition attracted 202 teams and 850 team members from 20 different countries in 5 continents.

Bucharest International Jazz Competition, organized by jmEvents, brings an important contribution to the promotion and recognition of the new Romanian and international jazz values. The competition promises vivid music, creation and an enthusiastic audience by combining concerts, jam sessions and workshops. Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces a juried competition with the theme “CityScapes” in which 2D artists from around the world are called upon to make online submissions for inclusion into the Gallery’s online group exhibition. Light Space & Time encourages entries from all 2D artists regardless of where they reside and regardless of their experience or education in the art field. A group exhibition of the top five finalists will be held online at the Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery during the month of May 2011.

The international competition for the Slant Awards is being held this year for the first time and on this occasion is aimed exclusively at students of Landscape Architecture and Landscape Design. The central idea behind this challenge is that the project in question is a “virtual project”, one that has been created specifically for this competition. The Slant Awards competition has been designed to offer students an interesting challenge with what we believe are interesting rewards, and we have tried to keep it as simple as possible.

The Art and Culture Laboratory [KUL•] calls all interested artists to entry the proposition for the second PI (Prvomajski Inkubator) exhibition. Art and culture Laboratory [KUL•] is a nonprofit organization that promotes different segments of contemporary art.
