The Transforming Seattle’s 520 Floating Bridge 2012 International Design Ideas Competition is challenging the design and art communities to envision new, innovative reuse strategies. The 520 bridge – in Seattle – will be decommissioned in 2014 due to high maintenance costs, damage, and the need for additional lanes. You’re invited to design a new bridge by reusing an recycling the old one in a sustainable fashion. What can designers do when faced with the design problem of reusing thirty-three floating concrete pontoons?

“Dance Theatre Story” is an open film competition of films focused on the theme of dance theatre as a form of art. Entering the competition is not restricted by the Organisers, there are also no restrictions concerning the form and technique of the films submitted. It can be both short or full-length film forms – etudes, impressions, documentaries, reports, creations, photocasts, animations, etc. Entrants can win 9,000 PLN (about 2000 EURO) and one special prize – the Bogusław Wojtowicz Special Award.
