Ballistic Publishing have just opened the call for entries for their 8th book in the EXOTIQUE series, which showcases the world’s most stunning CG characters. This call is open for all types of character work from humans to fantastic creatures, produced for film, television, games and personal endeavor. There is no cost or limit to the number of entries. Artists accepted into EXOTIQUE 8 are given huge international exposure and a free copy of the book when it is published. The book is currently scheduled for a worldwide release in December 2013.

The Federation of Canadian Artists has announced the competition for the 11th “Painting on the Edge” annual open international juried exhibition. The competition is open to all living artists worldwide featuring original paintings, printmaking and drawing media. Abstract, expressive, impressionist or realist styles are welcome. The grand prize for this year’s competition is $2,000 and more prizes are yet to be announced. Submitted entries must not be copies, derivatives, or based in any way on other copyrighted or published paintings, photographs or other artistic works and must not have been previously exhibited in any other FCA exhibition.
