The Global Health Workforce Alliance is pleased to announce a photo competition — “Health Workers Count” — for its upcoming Third Global Forum on Human Resources for Health. Professional and non-professional photographers worldwide are invited to participate in a photo contest under the theme “a day in the life of a health worker.” Three main prizes will be announced in each of the competition categories. The United Nations is currently accepting entries in the 2013 Ranan Lurie Political Cartoon Awards competition. This annual political cartoon award, given in the international field, has been established to promote the highest standard of excellence in political cartoons. Thirteen (13) awards will be granted in 2013, from which three (3) are main awards and ten (10) are honorable mentions — the First Prize is $10,000! Entries for these awards may be made by any professional individual, and should consist of political cartoons printed in any publication published anywhere, in any language.
